诗篇39:
1（大卫的诗，交与伶长耶杜顿。）我曾说，我要谨慎我的言行，免得我舌头犯罪。恶人在我面前的时候，我要用嚼环勒住我的口。
2我默然无声，连好话也不出口。我的愁苦就发动了。
3我的心在我里面发热。我默想的时候，火就烧起，我便用舌头说话。
4耶和华啊，求你叫我晓得我身之终，我的寿数几何，叫我知道我的生命不长。
5你使我的年日，窄如手掌。我一生的年数，在你面前，如同无有。各人最稳妥的时候，真是全然虚幻。（细拉）
6世人行动实系幻影。他们忙乱，真是枉然。积蓄财宝，不知将来有谁收取。
7主啊，如今我等什么呢？我的指望在乎你。
8求你救我脱离一切的过犯。不要使我受愚顽人的羞辱。
9因我所遭遇的是出于你，我就默然不语。
10求你把你的责罚，从我身上免去。因你手的责打，我便消灭。
11你因人的罪恶，惩罚他的时候，叫他的笑容消灭，（的笑容或作所喜爱的）如衣被虫所咬。世人真是虚幻。（细拉）
12耶和华啊。求你听我的祷告，留心听我的呼求。我流泪，求你不要静默无声。因为我在你面前是客旅，是寄居的，像我列祖一般。
13求你宽容我，使我在去而不返之先，可以力量复原。
1I said to myself, “I will watch what I doand not sin in what I say.I will hold my tonguewhen the ungodly are around me.”
2But as I stood there in silence—not even speaking of good things—the turmoil within me grew worse.
3The more I thought about it,the hotter I got,igniting a fire of words:
4“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is.
5You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;at best, each of us is but a breath.” Interlude
6We are merely moving shadows,and all our busy rushing ends in nothing.We heap up wealth,not knowing who will spend it.
7And so, Lord, where do I put my hope?My only hope is in you.
8Rescue me from my rebellion.Do not let fools mock me.
9I am silent before you; I won’t say a word,for my punishment is from you.
10But please stop striking me!I am exhausted by the blows from your hand.
11When you discipline us for our sins,you consume like a moth what is precious to us.Each of us is but a breath. Interlude
12Hear my prayer, O Lord!Listen to my cries for help!Don’t ignore my tears.For I am your guest—a traveler passing through,as my ancestors were before me.
13Leave me alone so I can smile againbefore I am gone and exist no more.
