希伯来书11:17-22
17亚伯拉罕因着信，被试验的时候，就把以撒献上。这便是那欢喜领受应许的，将自己独生的儿子献上。18论到这儿子曾有话说，从以撒生的才要称为你的后裔。19他以为神还能叫人从死里复活。他也仿佛从死中得回他的儿子来。20以撒因着信，就指着将来的事，给雅各以扫祝福。21雅各因着信，临死的时候，给约瑟的两个儿子各自祝福，扶着杖头敬拜神。22约瑟因着信，临终的时候，提到以色列族将来要出埃及，并为自己的骸骨留下遗命。
17It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, 18even though God had told him, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.”#11:18 Gen 21:12. 19Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead. 20It was by faith that Isaac promised blessings for the future to his sons, Jacob and Esau. 21It was by faith that Jacob, when he was old and dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff. 22It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.
